5 Surefire Ways to Arouse Your Woman

By Caterina Christakos As there are different types of women, there are different ways to arouse them as well. If you have been in a bit of a slump here are some quick ways to rev up your love life: 1) Dress in a suit and take her out to a romantic dinner. Women love men in suits and almost every man looks good in one. The soft candle light of a romantic restaurant combined with a good wine will put her in the mood to get closer, as well. 2) Work out together. Workouts release pheromones that heighten attraction between couples. Get sweaty together then clean up with some dirty fun in the shower. 3) Take a bath together. Fill the tub with some scented oils or bath salts and toss in some rose petals. Play romantic music and light some candles. She will feel pampered and grateful. Let her relax for a few minutes then slip in with her. There is plenty of opportunity for sexy contact while you clean each other. 4) Roleplay can keep your relationship and sex life reved up for years. Ex. My boyfriend will dress up like a handyman and really get into the act with accent and tools. He comes over and offers to lend a helping hand around the house. He offers a truly helping hand and I tip him extremely well. 5) Practice erotic massage. Either take a class together or get a video or book and practice on each other. This is a great way to get both of you relaxed and heated up. Caterina Christakos is a dating coach and author. Smoked Turkey

By Peter Emerson The turkey is a big, domesticated bird, native to North America. Turkey is distinguished by its white plumage and a bare wattled neck and head. The name turkey was first applied to the guinea fowl that was thought to have originated in Turkey. However, the American turkey is a quite different species from the guinea fowl, though the name remained. Smoked Turkey is a popular delicacy in North America. It is generally made for large parties, especially Thanksgiving. Buying a Smoked Turkey can be very expensive. Smoked Turkey can, however, be also made at home. It is a very easy and economical way to enjoy Smoked Turkey. For making a Smoked Turkey, you need a water smoker. Water smokers can be electric, gas or charcoal based. Another alternative to a water smoker is the indirect smoking method over the grill. Different kinds of woods can also be used, including: mesquite or hickory, chunks of water-soaked hardwood, or fruitwood. When the wood is added, place a lid on the smoker till the temperature reaches 250 to 300 degrees F. The temperature can be checked using an oven thermometer if the smoker doesnt have a built-in thermometer. Almost all parts of the turkey, including the breasts, drumsticks and wings, can be smoked. However, whole turkeys can be smoked provided they are lesser than 12 lbs in weight. A turkey should not be stuffed before smoking. There is also no need to add any special seasoning. All that is required is salt, pepper and a little poultry seasoning. You can also add some wine or juices instead of water for smoking. The turkey can also be brined before smoking. The brining solution usually consists of water, salt, spices and a little sugar. However, the turkey should be brined for at least 24 hours before smoking. Once the required temperature is reached, place the turkey inside and replace the lid. Smoking time depends on the size of the turkey as well as the temperature of the coals, distance of the smoker from the heat and the external temperature. A meat thermometer can be used to check whether the turkey is cooked or not. The temperature of the inner thigh should reach 180 degrees F. The turkey should also look pink and cooked. There should not be any rawness to it. It should also be moist and tender to taste, not chewy. There are some guidelines for getting a perfectly Smoked Turkey: ensure that there is no wind, as this could put out the fire; dont open the smokers door too many times or for too long; smaller birds less than 15 lbs are better since larger ones take too long to smoke; thaw a frozen turkey thoroughly before smoking it; ensure that the temperature is at least 160 degrees, to destroy any bacteria effectively. Turkey provides detailed information about turkey, turkey hunting, turkey recipes, deep fried turkey and more. Turkey is the sister site of 1200 Calorie Diabetic Diets. Nontraditional Students Welcomed at Colleges and Universities

By Aldene Fredenburg Major shifts in the job market and increasing costs at public and private universities have combined to create a new phenomenon: Increasing numbers of adult students are deciding to attend college, either to improve their job skills or prepare for a career change; and the colleges are welcoming them with open arms. The days of joining a company’s workforce after completion of high school or college and staying until retirement are gone, probably for good. Outsourcing, downsizing, and changes in business structure create a work environment that is much more unpredictable, and unstable, than ever. Workers with a variety of up-to-date job skills, who can adapt and grow with change, are much more likely to survive than workers who can’t or won’t adapt. New Programs for Continuing Education Students Colleges, universities, and trade schools, impacted by rising costs and looking at capital reserves depleted by stock market downturns, are welcoming these workers, creating or expanding continuing education programs and even creating online courses. Computer courses range from instruction in the latest office and management software to basic and advanced website design courses; computer graphic design programs offer students even more skills needed in the new computer-dominated work environment. Other popular course offerings include business and management classes, psychology courses (sometimes including work psychology), and personnel management classes. Many continuing education programs offer associates’, bachelors’, and even masters’ degrees; some provide career counseling ordinarily offered only to full-time students. In addition, benefits offered to traditional students are often extended to continuing ed students as well; this may include student discounts, free or reduced entrance to events at the college, and even use of the college pool and / or gym - a great perk for workers otherwise unable to afford a gym membership. Some continuing education students even find themselves involved in extracurricular activities, such as the college radio or TV station. Company Involvement Many companies encourage their workers to involve themselves in further education, and some will pay for the courses or reimburse for them after completion; some companies, but not all, insist that courses be work-related. One prominent insurance company not only reimburses for courses, but pays the student a $200 bonus upon completion. Many industries have training programs of their own which they offer to employees; the banking industry, for instance, is affiliated with the American Bankers Association, an organization which offers industry-related courses to the employees of its member banks; these courses are generally free to the employees. This benefit results in unique opportunities for advancement and makes banking a very attractive career path, particularly for women without the means to attend business school. Even when companies provide free training to workers, many supplement their industry-specific education with college courses; some will even pay for a degree program. Considering the need for higher education among workers, and the uncertainty in the workplace, this education reimbursement arrangement may be the most valuable benefit a worker can receive. Eschatology - Rapture Ready and the Second Coming

By William Bell, Jr. What Is Eschatology? Eschatology is from two words, “eschatos” meaning last or final and “logos,” meaning word or study. It is the study of last or final things. In the following, eschatology is used as the broad term to define the second coming and its related events. The Soon But “Never Occurring” Second Coming of Christ? The Rapture is one of the events which is supposedly in our imminent future. What if it is not? What if there is no such thing, –for us? This is not to alarm you, but asking you to read far enough down this page to possibly learn something you may not have known beforehand. Are you curious why there have been so many incorrect dates set for the second coming of Christ? Most who prophesy of this event almost always indicate that it is soon to happen. The book known as the Bible says that it is, that the end of all things is at hand. (1 Peter 4:7; James 5:7,8). On the other hand, the same book says it is not. Is that partly why there is so much confusion on this topic? How can an event be about to happen soon, but not happen for 2000 years? That is a conclusion many have reached by reading popular eschatology novels clouded in story form. It is not a contradiction if we understand the historical time frame in which the words were uttered and their intended fulfillment. What’s the problem? It is simply that many forget that when reading about the event in the Bible, they lose sight of the fact that it was written to a contemporary audience who lived generations in our past. Many mistakenly take what was soon to them and make it soon to us. Or they suppose that what they believe was soon to them aborted and did not happen and conclude the early writers were. What’s the result? “Rapturemania,” doomsayers, and egg on the face of otherwise intelligent men. Would you be willing to hear a different approach that might be more sensible? Warning! Reading for yourself could be hazardous to your preachers’ opinions or current viewpoint. Are you willing to take the risk? Could New Testament Writers Have Meant Exactly What They Said? While it is not uncommon for people to consider the writers of the New Testament as liars or mistaken (even attributing fabrications to Jesus himself), there are some of us who believe that they were dead on target. They said the second coming was soon in their day. It was. It did happen just as and when they said it would, –within their very own generation and lifetime. (Matthew 24:30, 34) Date-Setters Are Pointing in the Wrong Direction Date-setters are not missing the mark because they are date setters, they are date-setters because they are missing the mark. They are pointing in the wrong direction, the future versus the past. Every statement in the New Testament which speaks of the end-time, last days or second coming of Christ speaks of an imminent future in the lifetime of first century believers. We err in overlooking this simple fact and apply language meant for them to us. The net result, end-time embarrassment. William Bell, speaker, author, writer, has lectured frequently on eschatology. Your opinions are welcomed. Weight Loss Surgery: Successful Patients Embrace Four Stages of Growth

By Kaye Bailey Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) is often viewed as a quick fix for morbid obesity. One day a person is fat, the next they are not. While it may appear to onlookers that a gastric bypass patient is losing the weight without personal struggle or effort, this really isnt true. WLS patients must follow four rules for success and they experience four phases of growth following surgery. The four rules for successful weight loss and long-term weight maintenance are: Eat protein first; No snacking, Drink lots of water and Exercise daily. Adherence to these rules moves the patient smoothly through the four stages of bariatric growth which I define as: Conception, Infancy, Adolescence and Maturity. Conception begins when patients consider surgery as a treatment for morbid obesity. It could be prompted by a life threatening illness such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or high blood cholesterol, asthma, heartburn or sleep apnea. Or perhaps lifestyle prompts it a person may lack the energy to play with their children or pursue the activities they love. Maybe self-esteem is so low because of obesity that a drastic measure surgery is needed to restore a sense of self-worth. Conception is followed by birth, an event left entirely to a carefully selected surgeon and staff of healthcare professionals. The surgeon partitions off most of the stomach creating a pocket or pouch that will hold one ounce of food. In most gastric bypass surgeries the digestive system is re-routed to bypass the intestine and shortcut to the bowel. This prevents too many calories from being absorbed and stored by the body in the form of fat. The patient wakes from the surgery a bariatric infant. Infancy On the second day of my WLS infancy my surgeon stood at my hospital bedside and showed me a cup, the size in which sacramental communion is offered and he said This is the size of your stomach now. Just like bringing a newborn home from the hospital the bariatric patient brings home a tiny newborn tummy that has all kinds of requirements and restrictions. This new tiny tummy is completely foreign to the behaviors and habits that caused obesity. There is not one single thing an obese person has done in the past that they can continue doing. Patients who strictly follow the four rules quickly become acquainted with their new tiny tummy. This is the time of rapid weight loss. For the first time most morbidly obese patients are consistently losing lots of weight, something they have never experienced before. Infancy for most bariatric patients lasts from nine to 18 months. Similar to parents of a firstborn child who focus completely on their new baby, during bariatric infancy patients completely focus on their new tiny tummy. Then one day, without fanfare, they wake up and rediscover themselves. They enter adolescence. Adolescence Adolescence is the stage when patients test the system. Many patients dont dump, vomit, snack or eat the forbidden foods until they reach adolescence. But once they approach or reach target weight a mental bad boy shows up in a shiny black corvette saying take a ride on the wild side. So a patient jumps in the bad boys fast ride and speeds down a dangerous road. They break the rules! Perhaps they eat sugar which results in a blood sugar imbalance called dumping or they may stuff themselves with starchy carbs causing vomiting. In the worst case, a patient returns to snacking, a little treat of hard candy here and a handful of popcorn there. Mark my words, nothing stops-short weight loss or maintenance more quickly than a little bit of rule breaking. But like any teenager, we all have to learn it on our own. The good news: the duration of adolescence is up to the patient! A patient only hurts themselves when they break the rules. Successful WLS patients commit to themselves early to be in control of their own gastric bypass growth cycle. However, some WLS patients get stuck in adolescence. Ive heard many say, Oh, I can eat anything I want, just not much of it. Dont believe it for a minute. They arent saying how often they vomit, or dump or how they never quite achieved their weight loss goal. Weight loss patients who eat anything they want are abusing their tool and stuck in perpetual adolescence. Maturity At maturity a patient understands the gastric bypass system and is living the life they dreamed. They have achieved desired weight loss and are maintaining a healthy weight. A diligent patient can enjoy this phase for the rest of their life. I believe WLS maturity is reached when patients understand one word: respect. Respect for the tiny tummy, respect for the science of the body, and respect for oneself. Sure, we all experience an occasional lapse of judgment; that old lover of ours food - is flaunting temptations every single day. But the gastric bypass patient is a brave and powerful person. Successful patients build on infant and teenage experiences and become an adult embracing all the good things gastric bypass has facilitated. The battle against obesity isnt easy; patients will fight old habits for the rest of their life. Gastric bypass is a tool, a weapon in the battle against obesity, but it is the patient who wins the war. 10 Weight Loss Busters You Shouldn’t Eat

By Eva Moffat 1. Fried Foods That Are Frightening 2. Steakhouse Stories That Scare 3 Manufacturers Mislead Many 4. Burgers That Are Bigger and Biggest 5. Awful Appetisers 6. Cakes and Cookies That Are Calorie Clogged 7. Diet Drinks That Deceive 8. High Calorie Horrors 9. Diet Disasters When Dining Out 10. Super Sized Servings That Sabotage Your Diet 1. Fried Foods That Are Frightening Deep fried foods are nutritionally bad for you. If you enjoy going to fairs and carnivals, you may well be tempted to eat the strangest of concoctions. It’s amazing just what has been thrown into the deep fryer in the name of creativity. But the only thing you are going to create is havoc with your weight loss diet. 2. Steakhouse Stories That Scare Your local neighbourhood restaurant or steakhouse may be a Nutritional Nightmare. Fried onions that are considered a Starter Dish are so full of Calories, Fat, Saturated Fat and with a high Salt content. And to go from bad to worse, the onions are usually served with a sauce that has even more Calories, Fat and Salt. For the sake of your health, be sure you know your onions. 3. Manufacturers Mislead Many Foods that are often labeled as healthy are just the opposite. Marion Nestle PhD, MPH a New York University Nutritional Professor in her book What To Eat,’ talks of Fruit Snacks’ that have absolutely no fruit in them but were just laden with sugar. Don’t believe the adverts, read the labels carefully then decide for yourself if it’s right for you. 4. Burgers That Are Bigger and Biggest Burgers are getting bigger and bigger. Burger King and others are taking a bun and piling on as many as four burgers, plus slices of cheese and strips of bacon. Just one of these burgers will give you more Calories than you should eat if having three meals a day. If you really do want a burger, try ordering a plain burger. It could be served with a sauce, but it should be on the side not on top. That will save you eating more Calories than you need. 5. Awful Appetisers How about a Fundido as a snack before the main meal? A Fundido is made up of a combination of cheese, pepperoni, bacon and sausage served with bread sticks. If you are on a weight loss diet, a Fundido is a nutritional no-no. 6. Cakes and Cookies That Are Calorie Clogged You are tempted to have a square of Starbucks Old Fashioned Crumb Cake to go with your coffee but that little square has 670 Calories in it. And a piece of Cheesecake has enough Calories in it to make a mess of your weight loss diet, but the Cheesecake Factory adds Chocolate Candy, Mousse etc. Nice for a treat once a year, but for the rest of the year DON’T. 7. Diet Drinks That Deceive High Calorie drinks are so deceptive. They don’t need chewing and go down real easy and they don’t fill you up. So how can this innocent looking cup of coffee be loaded with 490 580 Calories? It could be the chocolate or cream that is added. To avoid piling on the Calories, order a small size cup of coffee with low fat milk and sweeteners. 8. High Calorie Horrors When you are out shopping at the Mall you may be tempted by the delicious aromas of coffees, spicy pies and the mouth watering smell of freshly made doughnuts. But giving in to temptation could mean you may consume a day’s worth of Calories in one delicious but none essential piece of confectionery. Ok I’m being a spoil sport but, for the sake of your health and weight loss diet, you would be better to take along a snack of crackers and nuts or raw veggies. Enjoy. 9. Diet Disasters When Dining Out Two decades ago, dining out was already beginning to be a disaster for the person who was on a weight loss diet. The menu offered high Calorie foods. Things haven’t improved over the years; in fact they have become worse. On the menu in restaurants are such things as fried macaroni and cheese and cheese fries. Just oozing with fat and packed with Calories. In order to keep to your diet change into a fluffy bunny rabbit and talk yourself into eating and enjoying salads. 10. Super Sized Servings That Sabotage Your Diet Have you noticed how it’s not just fast food meals that have got bigger? So have bagels, pasta servings, salads and sandwiches. If you go out to a restaurant for a meal, most of the meals on the menu are going to be around 1 000 Calories. The question to ask yourself is, do I really need this food? As Michelle May MD, author of Am I Hungry?’ and What To Do When Diets Don’t Work’ said, that Once a person indulges in a decadent dessert or monster burger, it triggers the I’ve already blown my diet, so why bother,’ mentality. Beyond that, May believes, the real horror may be the American mind set about food. We were raised to clean the plate, so we could be rewarded with a dessert, which further enhances our desire to eat sweets and meals without recognition of fullness,’ she says. If you want to keep to your weight loss diet, learn what foods are best for you and avoid the ones that sabotage it. There are No Easy Weight Loss Solutions

By Ian Henman Weight loss solutions, one of the most searched for things in todays faced paced, quick fix society. Do you have your personal weight where you’d like it to be? I know I don’t, and I think if you posed that question to a great number of people they would tell you the same thing. I conducted a survey not that long ago of college students asking this exact question, and you know what, the majority said they weren’t happy with their current weight. If this is the feeling of college students how do you think the response would go from those of us that are in our 40’s and 50’s. The reality is it all comes down to our lifestyle and the choices we make day to day. What are you having for lunch today? Better yet what did you have for breakfast this morning? These are very important questions and they need to be planned meals with the right food if you’re serious about weight loss solutions. There is no quick fix, although that’s what most of us want, if you’re serious about losing those pound you need to be serious about doing the work. Now most of you probably don’t want to hear these same obvious recommendations again but lets go over a few of them. The most important of them all is diet, it’s just not possible to eat what ever your heart desires and expect to not gain weight. What are you currently planning on eating for dinner tonight? If you were thinking of it in terms of weight loss solutions would you still have the same thing? If you want to lose weight, you need discipline. Now not to suggest you can never have junk food again, the key is to minimize intake, and everything in moderation. Eating right is the number one thing to staying fit, now followed closely behind to exercise. The best scenario, devote an hour a day to cardio, if you’re schedule doesn’t allow for this, do the best you can but don’t let yourself off the hook easy. When we get right at the core of weight loss solutions, there isn’t a quick fix. While many of us are looking for immediate gratification the natural healthy solution isn’t out there. Just look at all the gad diets that come and go, if they all worked we wouldn’t need more of them. You need to get off your butt, and get busy. If you’re having trouble knowing where to start you can research a lot of good healthy diet plans, and exercise routines on the Internet. Take some time to plan your week for meals, and activity and make it happen. You’ll find a vast array of weight loss solutions, as well as diet and exercise plans online, but you need to take the first step and find them, they won’t ever find you. Finding and Motivating Your Target Audience: Niche Marketing At Its Best

By Eric P. Barnes As an entrepreneur, one of your greatest challenges is the choice of where to put your advertising and marketing bucks. Who/what/where is my market? How do I reach them? What do I say to excite them? The wrong answers can cost a lot of useless expense and time as you learn this critical field. Many companies have gone under for lack of mastering these efforts. TV COMMERCIALS Have you ever watched a TV commercial and thought to yourself, “Who on earth would buy that?” If so, you’ve seen an ad carefully targeted at a group which has different needs and desires than you do. If your response was, “Boy! I’d sure enjoy that” or “I’m going to call them tomorrow,” the ad had YOU squarely in its sights. SELLING VIA PAIN Advertising agencies discovered long ago that the fastest way to move someone into action (buying) is to discover something that is very painful to them, then disturb that person about it. If they stirred up emotions about a wound (i.e., a deep desire going unfilled or an unaddressed fear) and then showed the prospective customer how to heal that wound or fulfill that need through a product or service, the person felt COMPELLED to buy … buying became a MUST! This discovery has been refined over the last fifty years into a fine art. The purpose of the following is to introduce you to this system so that you can discover people’s deepest needs, wants and wounds and heal or satisfy them with your product/service. IT WORKS Advertisers understand this. It helped AT&T increase their long distance calls over 500% in certain areas. This is what helped Dr. Pepper move from the #9 soft drink to #5. Levis 501 Jeans used this information to double their sales in a six month period of time. As a result of this information, you will: 1. Be able to determine the distinctions used by advertisers to motivate our entire nation. You’ll never see a commercial again without determining its target market(s) virtually instantly. 2. Be able to create power levels of rapport by knowing a person’s deepest emotional needs. 3. Be able to determine who is your actual target market. 4. Use this information in your direct mail, face to face negotiations, in and outbound telemarketing, advertising and marketing campaigns, strategic alliances…and in your personal life. FOUR MAJOR LIFESTYLES There are four distinct lifestyles, the last broken into two slightly differing types. 1. BELONGERS - 38% of the country. LIFESTYLE: Hard working, 9-5 types. Midwest values, traditional, blue collar workers. They DO NOT LIKE CHANGE. You’ll find no Mercedes in this group, no use of crystals. These people are NOT out to change the world. They belong to social clubs, play softball, shop at K-Mart and Sears. Their primary automobiles are - you guessed it - Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler. HIGHEST VALUE: FAMILY (Is it any wonder the major political parties constantly push “family values,” though they carefully *never* define what those values are?) PSYCHIC WOUND: Traditional values are not happening any more. KEY WORDS: Picnic, time together, patriotic, family. Typical commercial appealing to this group: AT&T’s “Reach Out and Touch Someone” series. They’re warm and fuzzy, *very* family and friend oriented and appeal to the desire for connectedness. Family scenes tend to be country and/or small town oriented with lots of children and grandparents. Also recall the Kodak Moments series. Can you see how these ads appeal to this large group? The political ads, conversely, are aimed at how these things are under attack or no longer valued. They appeal primarily to fear. 2. EMULATORS - About 10-15% of the country LIFESTYLE: Young, the 16-38 age range. They model themselves after successful people. They are money and business motivated, materialistic and “wannabes.” They tend to move quickly, feel driven towards success and have strong sex motivated desires. In cars, their choices include Camaros, Mustangs, Firebirds and maybe leased late model Beemers. HIGH VALUE: Desire to be confident. PSYCHIC WOUND: Lack confidence (and know it). KEY WORDS: Someday, I’m going to… I want… Be like… Typical commercials appealing to this group: Coors Lite. It’s action driven, sexy, young. ZIMA Malt Drink follows this pattern. Nike ads, too, featuring Michael Jordan. Cool. Action driven, often young people in the series doing cool things. Especially watch for ads which have young, beautiful and sexy people. Calvin Klein’s ads are targeted to this group. And just watch Melanie Griffith in her Revlon series about “Don’t lie about your age…defy it.” Almost all cosmetic ads are in this group. Notice, too, the driving music behind these ads. 3. ACHIEVERS - Again, about 10-15% of the country LIFESTYLE: #1 in their fields, know they’re the BEST. Economically top performers, $100K+ annually. This group tends to be 40-55 years of age. Their auto choices? Top of the line Mercedes, Jaguar, Rolls Royce. And guess what brand of mustard they prefer? HIGH VALUE: Being unique, standing out, king of the hill. PSYCHIC WOUND: Don’t want to be one of the pack, part of the herd. KEY WORDS: Unique, decision maker, leader, international, CEO, prestige, quality, different, take it to the next level, being in the vanguard. Typical commercial appealing to this group: Lincoln Continental. Note its tag line: “Make Your Mark.” Cadillac also targets this group, as do the DeBeers diamond ads which often speak of 25th wedding anniversaries. See how they go straight at this age and financial range? 4. SOCIETALLY CONSCIOUS - (Two types) 10-15% of the market, fastest growing segment in the US. LIFESTYLE: Not money oriented, tend to be college grads, grew up in the 60s, don’t trust government programs. Type A: Never left the 60s, long hair, not into career, sandals, Tie-dyed T-Shirts, Grateful Dead concerts. They often prefer used cars, VW vans. Type B: Got into the system, cut their hair (not always) or trimmed their beards neatly, some wear suits, believe in “change-the-system-from-within.” Their car choices are Volvos, Saabs and Subarus. (From direct observation, it would seem that Berkeley, CA, is the Volvo Capital of the US!) HIGH VALUE: Intelligence, Integrity PSYCHIC WOUND: Being seduced or manipulated by the system in any way. KEY WORDS: Mission, change the world for the better, natural, balance, nuturing, good person, outdoors, environmental, poor, homeless, global warming, recycling, pollution, etc. Typical commercial appealing to this group: Chevron “People Do” ads showing scenes of environmental purity next to refineries. Coors Regular with cool, clean flowing streams. Ads which are low key and which stress “You Already Know What’s Right,” or “You Can’t Be Fooled.” So even though this group detests being manipulated, they, like everyone else in the world, can be approached psychologically. GENERAL CATEGORIES Note that these are all general categories. People are not totally one thing or another, so individuals can be part of more than one grouping. Often you’ll see commercials or ads which are targeted toward more than one group using mixed words and images. The viewer simply picks out those which appeal directly and rejects the others…or doesn’t even see or respond to them. So observe the advertising going on for awhile, see how it is put together and then go forth and do likewise. Dating After 40: How to Trump Being Dumped

By R.L. Morgan To trump: outshine, outclass, upstage, eclipse, surpass, outdo, outperform; beat, better, top, cap; be a cut above, be head and shoulders above, leave standing. A friend told me hed been dumped by his last sweetheart, and was still stinging from it many months later. Me: What was the reason for the breakup? He: It was stupid. Because I am fun and engaging with others, my sweetie felt I had the potential to cheat. I have never cheated, nor would I. This was all imaginary. Me: Then your sweetie did you a favor by releasing you. Imagine your life with someone who was jealous about what you had the potential to do. This person would be easily riled at your making eye contact, smiling or talking to anyone else, even if you had no intention of cheating. Perhaps your partner would read your emails or text messages, or scrutinize your cell call log. You would live in an ever-present shroud of suspicion. Would you want to live with that? He: No. Me: Then in fact, you were done a favor by being released from the clutches of an insecure person, who would have made your life hell if youd stayed together. How great that you now are available for a trusting, mature, sane person. He: You sure know how to spin it! Me: Its the truth, isnt it? He: Yes, but I hadnt thought of it like that. Most people dont. Although being released stings, if you can reframe it, you will be in less pain. There is always more than one way to interpret something, without being delusional. Both our interpretations describe the same outcome: He is single again. My philosophy is to choose the interpretation that leaves you most empowered, not depressed. So was he dumped? You could say that. Was he released from a partnership with a needlessly jealous, insecure person? Yes. Both are true. Which one leaves him feeling best about himself and ready to meet a great person? The latter. When you construe something negatively, ask yourself how else it could be interpreted. Choose the option that is still the truth, but leaves you moving forward positively, not leaving you feeling less than. R.L. Fantasies, Lies and Self Deception

By Tonja Weimer Fantasies and lies may be the touchiest spot on the human map. We all tend to make things up to be the way we want them to be. The problems arise when that self deception is harmful to us and even to those around us. When it comes to dating, there is not one among us who hasnt met someone, swooned over him or her, and started fantasizing and making things up. You may be aware that you were a victim of self deception in the past. You may have started to project onto your newfound love all the qualities you wanted to be there. In the end, you were telling yourself lies. Often, when others can see that you are making things up, but you cant, you are either living on the fumes of chemistry, in a state of denial, or both. Fear of being alone can also skew your thinking patterns. Its important to know that you can find the help you need to discover the reality, sort out the illusions, and not waste time with someone you are not meant to be with. To find your love, you need to know what is fantasy and what is real. You need the skills and wisdom to sort out what is the truth and what is a lie when you meet someone new. The following questions may help you do that: 1.Is this person my first choice? Do not lie to yourself when you ask yourself this question: if I could have anyone in the world, and I had a wide range of fabulous choices for a mate, would I still choose this person? 2.Does this person want what I want? This is not the place where you want to make things up. Example: Do you want to have children but your partner says he already has enough children and he doesnt want anymore? That reality might be all you need to stop your fantasy. 3.Does your partner make you the number one priority? Do you have the fantasy that you are going to someday be his first choice? Or does he put his Ex, mother, and children first, and your needs last? 4.Are we able to hear each other? Or does he or she often complain that you dont listen and this issue causes stress? Do you often think that the relationship is going along just fine when suddenly your partner bursts out with how miserable life is between you? 5.Do we have the same vision? Your vision for your life is not a fantasy. You can make it real. If your deepest value is honoring and living in the middle of nature, communing with the trees and mountain vistas at sunrise and sunset, and you meet someone who loves living in a tiny apartment in a large bustling city and cant stand to take a walk in the park for fear of beetles and flies, say hello and goodbye in the same breath. You will make each other miserable. 6.Are you living out your purpose? When you stop your self deception, you realize that you came here with a specific purpose to fulfill. If your children are grown or you are ready to retire, you may be confused about what you should be doing with your life. Or, if you are trained for your current job, but it stinks, you may feel despair about your future. The key is to know that no one else can give you a purpose. That is for each of us to discover and rediscover for ourselves as we move through life. Sometimes, it can take very little to throw us into an unbalanced state. The next time you think the sky has fallen on your head, be brave, be quiet, and have a professional help you sort it out. The above are your reminders that when you meet someone and start to fantasize, lie to yourself, and make things up, you want to get a grip on your truth. You deserve a real relationship.
